At The Today Standard, we prioritize reader anonymity by forgoing personal data collection and individual tracking in favor of a privacy-first experience.
One of the unique things about The Today Standard is to promote transparency and build trust among its users by following laws and guidelines as set out by various nations. But even before that, we strive to keep our users' privacy a top most priority.
The Today Standard uses Google Analytics to understand site usage patterns. That said, this understanding of site usage patterns is solely done to make the site better serve its users. When it comes to metrics, The Today Standard does not use or have any software or technology, either owned by The Today Standard or via third party, which would expose behavior of a particular user's usage patterns. Rather, we focus and use the insights generated by Google Analytics in aggregate.
In other words, to respect a user's privacy, we do not track user data in the form which may be used to distinguish or identify the user from others. Furthermore, we do not interfere, by way of any illegal means, in the process of any information collected by Google Analytics on our behalf.
We use Google Analytics to understand country/state wise users and not their precise location, our website's overall engagement rate, bounce rate or number of views and any similar measures to weigh in an article's success in regards to views and engagement. This analysis is helpful to us to better serve you with the best quality of articles and the articles which are most useful to our users.
