Automation has many forms. Depending upon industries where used, it is software in IT, Industrial machines in other.

Since the dawn of capitalism, sole aim of automation has been to increase productivity. Robotics, is a layer on top of it.

Earlier, one would create machine to automate a task or certain set of tasks at best. But nothing much further than that. But there always has been a gap that machines should be more general purpose, they should be able to perform wide range of tasks which just one kind of design.

That drive for generic design gave birth to Robotics, among other reasons like curiosity to create a machine like humans.

Robotics has evolved quite a bit. From industrial warehouse robots to Optimus. Now that we have witnessed the potential of Agentic AI and AI in general, we will see that in Robotics too.

Agentic AI can plan tasks execute them, correct them, revisit them in your software. Imagine that system is brought into a Drone.

Imagine that Optimus can go to super market bring groceries, fold your laundry, cook for you, virtually do everything you want with just few lines of prompts (not code). And that is the future.

Although, there are downsides of this evolution, one should know that advancement we see in a technology, there is a bigger risk, there is always more at stake. But the good thing is that choice will be ours!
